Did any of you go to the race Poston put on? Have not heard any results? wondered if someone had an update?
Was thinking of going to his next one - just wondered what the competition would be like. Any help out there?

Terry,
I've still got that motor and in your Jeep I think you could give them boys up there a run for their money. I know you don't think it's much more than what you got but I bet it would make a pretty big difference. You could probably just throw that blue bottle away. I told a fella from Georgia that I was firm on the price but for you I could come down a little. Besides, Josh will probably kill the other motor pretty quick and I'm sure he would like another one from Dad!
Good Luck wherever you go next.
Talk to you soon,
WANNAB

Rick:
Good to hear from y'll - thought everyone took the summer off.
I am still flipping a coin for Aug races - Essex Junction, Vt. on the 4-5. Pro stock shootout in Pa. or Gravelrama, in Oh. Both on the 25th. So not looking to good for a trip to Sc. afterall (Wallet will be a little thin by then).
But so far it looks like the only big race after that is Indy on 9/21-23 Have not looked it up yet, but is Postons 3rd. race in Sept? If so it might be a good shot at that one. Good Luck to you if you go. Let me know what happens.

Butch:
You know I would like that motor, An extra 150-180 foot pounds of torque, has to make a difference - I just can not spend the cash right now - still working on remodeling house. Besides by this time next year you will need it to power your new ride.
p.s. Josh only gets one - after that he is on his own.
Hope to see you all in the fall.

Terry,
The house has to come first. At least that's what Wendy keeps telling me. Don't hold your breath waiting for my new ride, especially with that big ole motor. My next one will be a small block with a pair of hair dryers and it will run on 10.5" radials NOT them big ole mud skippin tires! It should be almost as much fun and probably as hard to keep straight especially at 150+.
C ya,
WANNAB

Your right - have to keep the peace. Can always hope you will come back with the rest of us diehards.
That 10.5 racing is some wild stuff - But to rich for me to get into. A friend of mine up here is starting to put one together for the NMCA, should be a nice ride when he gets it done.
As for me whats left? going to the lower classes and doing brackets? - I don't know if I would like that. Besides going to the same track every week - for me it would get boring. Guess thats why I still do this mud race thing.
Good luck whichever way you go. I would still be interested in seeing it - I like hot rods of all kinds.

Bobby
Thanks for the info. Sorry your turn out was down, But sounds like the ones that did show up were all good racers and put on a good show.
Just my thoughts, but there were a number of other good races in other states going on that same weekend (not as big a payout - but closer mileage wise for some) I am sure that did not help.
Keep up the good work - like they say -timing is everything - good luck to you.
